Asbestos Training and Awareness

Give your people the knowledge to recognise risk, stop work and make the right call.

Ask A1 about this service

Why it matters

Anyone working in, on or around premises built before 2000 should be alert to the possible presence of asbestos-containing materials. Awareness training does not qualify someone to remove asbestos; it helps them recognise likely materials, understand the danger of disturbance and know what to do when asbestos is suspected or discovered.

Trades and maintenance teams

Builders, plumbers, electricians, roofers, painters, flooring teams and maintenance workers regularly encounter materials that may contain asbestos.

Property and facilities teams

Landlords, property managers, caretakers, school staff and facilities personnel need clear escalation procedures.

Workers and contractors

People entering older workplaces should understand site information, signage, controls and stop-work expectations.

Leaders and PCBUs

Managers need systems that ensure asbestos information reaches the people whose work could disturb it.

The A1 approach

A clear, controlled path forward

  1. 01

    Recognise

Understand where asbestos may be found and what suspicious materials can look like.

  2. 02

    Prevent

Plan work so suspected material is not accidentally cut, drilled, sanded or damaged.

  3. 03

    Respond

Know how to stop work, isolate the area and report a discovery.

  4. 04

    Escalate

Bring in competent advice, sampling and licensed removal support when required.

Important

The best exposure response is the one you never need. Awareness, planning and early advice are the strongest forms of prevention.
